What am I about
I have been a tabletop gamer all my life, since the late 80's to today. My earliest games were MB and waddington's family games that I played with my family. As I got older I started playing with Advanced Dungeons and Dragons which led me down my RPG gaming life whilst also starting to play games like Atmosphere, a game which to my young mind at the time it came out broke all the rules and showed me just what a board game could be. My father also used to love playing tabletop naval war games, which I have grown to love (as well as the history of it outside of gaming).
I love games. I love what they can be and what they can do. The fun they bring, the memories and stories that they can create. The joy that a well made game can bring is immesurable in my opinion.
I believe what makes a tabletop game good is not to do with immaculate art, piles of plastic or one shot gimmicks. A well made game is elegance, simplicity layered on a complex foundation but above all else - it should be Fun! I seek to achieve these three things, sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss but I still design and people still keep playing.
Marti's Nook is where I am now sharing the games I have made, and the projects I am currently making.
